MoneyTransfer from abroad trought Smith&Smith


Locations where they can send money from abroad to Romania and Moldova are now over 5000, covering a geographical area that includes over 80 countries: Italy, Spain, Greece, Israel, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Finland, Portugal, Austria, USA or Canada.
Banks working with Smith & Smith are authorized commercial banks in those countries to undertake foreign exchange operations.

How to perform a moneytransfer:
1. The sender should go to the nearest Smith & Smith Agency for sending money.
2. Give to the operator recipient's details (name, address) and choose the location where the recipient wants to receive money. After you gave the money and the commission relating to the transfer you will receivea written proof (receipt) of the transaction.
3. The sender must notify the recipient of the amount sent and the location must be present to raise money.
4. The receive should go to the specified agency having his ID (CI or BI).
5. Receiver raise money in the currency indicated by the sender (ROL, EUR, USD), without paying any commission.
Smith & Smith makes the transfer of money between individuals:

In Romania the Smith&Smith service is available in our own agencies and also in BCR bank branches and VolksBank branches.
This service is available in over 80 countries, with more than 5,000 locations of agents that can send money. In Romania there are 31 agencies of Smith & Smith, where you can receive or send money abroad. Our services are present and the BCR in all ~ 600 branches and also with Volksbank ~ 200 branches.

To send money, you should go with your identity card and money you want to send, to agent in the country where you are and to specify that you want to send money throught Smith&Smith. You will receive a receipt with the reference number of the transaction and the location where the recipient must be present to raise money. Then, you just contact the recipient and to communicate all these data. The commission paid varies depending on the amount transferred. For example, 300 euros, the commission is 10 €. (commission may vary from one agent to another).

To receive money, you must not fill in any form. Only with your identity card go to the nearest Smith & Smith Agency, or at a branch or BCR Volksbank and receive money within minutes.

The amount can be raised in euro or U.S. dollars lei, depending on the option exercised by the sender.

Special MoneyTransfer services for those who work in Italy and Spain

Spain and Italy are the most popular destinations for Romanians workers, Smith&Smith and has concentrated efforts to provide high quality services.

For example, for transfers of smaller than 50 euros, the commission is only 3.99 euro (valid only in some agents) and money can be raised in Romania in 10 minutes to an Smith&Smith agency. Transfer fees will be borne entirely by the sender.
